There are multiple projects and collaborations that happen along the way. Some that don’t quite fit a narrative, spaces to learn, other routes and adventures. Here is a glimpse of a few of those from early works like ‘Fleeting’ -an installation in the drained basin of the London Field’s Lido, to a homage to Derek Jarman’s garden.
There has been consistent work in film theory and practice learning the technical and storytelling skills and building the collaborations put to use in many projects. These have also directly informed practice and include early short documentaries made with Daniel Edelstyn for Channel 4 - 3 minute wonders following the exploits of Lottie Child’s Urban Climbing, A Misguide to Milton Keynes, the Office for Subversive Architects and the Space Hijackers.
Major collaborative projects have happened alongside other works. How To Re-Establish A Vodka Empire' was a feature documentary film made with Daniel Edelstyn. In involved a quest to find family history in Ukraine only to discover and attempt to reinvigorate a vodka distillery in a post perestroika village in decline and led to the setting up of a social enterprise vodka brand -Zorokovich 1917. The film premiered at London BFI Film Festival and had an international cinematic release. As cinematographer, performer, producer, designer and model maker this project employed a penchant for transforming cardboard into other worlds constructing 1917 Kiev in miniature.
